Ion Global Receives Five Awards from Web Marketing Association

Ion Global, Asia's leading integrated e-business solutions firm and a wholly owned subsidiary of chinadotcom corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA), today announced that it has received five awards from the US-based Web Marketing Association (WMA) at its annual WebAward Competition. This marks the seventh consecutive year that Ion Global has been recognised at the WebAwards since the WMA's inception in 1997. Of the awards, the highest achievements included "Best Bank Website" for its work with HSBC Card Services and "Outstanding Website" for the 2004 Hong Kong Arts Festival site. Ion Global is also proud to have received "Standard of Excellence" awards for its work with other HSBC divisions - HSBC Insurance (Asia- Pacific) and HSBC Premier Banking - as well as the MTR Corporation.

It is an honour to have been recognised internationally by the Web Marketing Association once again. In fact, we have received multiple awards every year since they started, which is a true accolade to our staff," said Herman Cheng, Managing Director of Ion Global. "What we are most proud to announce is the fourth win for the Hong Kong Arts Festival and the fifth annual win for our work with HSBC. These stand as a testament to the strong long-term partnerships we have built with both the corporate sector and non-profit communities we serve," added Cheng.

Douglas Gautier, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Arts Festival commented, "This recognition by the WMA clearly acknowledges all of the hard work done by our team together with Ion Global. Having Ion Global as an on-going partner has certainly helped reach our target customers through this attractive and easy-to-navigate web site, which is reflective of our status as a premier arts event in Hong Kong and the region."

WebAward judges added about the various sites: "Professional. Allow users to find what they want directly when they know what they are looking for. Excellent navigation for a site with so much information. Nice use of Flash to promote marketing offers. Excellent site - great work... the content is compelling and organised."

These awards follow on the heels of accolades at the 2004 Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international awards competition which recognises excellence in interactive media production, for Ion Global's work on the Consulate General of Brazil in San Francisco.

Running one of the top award programmes in the world, the Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development. The WMA produces the WebAwards annually to judge corporate web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry recognising the individual achievement behind the creation of today's top sites.
